Starting in October, CCE Oregon will offer "The Tune Bench", a place for players of Irish traditional music to refine listening skills, build repertoire, and play with others. Bring your (melody) instrument, open ears, and open mind! The Tune Bench happens every other Saturday, starting October 6, 2018, 10:15am (SHARP!)-11:15am. Meetings start off at Friendly House for the first two meetings, then will rotate to (willing) participant’s homes. Friendly House is located at 1737 NW 26th Ave, Portland. $7-10 donation to CCE.
Teresa Baker came up with The Tune Bench. She has played Irish traditional music on tin whistle and piano for many years and knows its joys and its struggles. Learning the music by ear is imperative to unlock the lift and nuance that even the simplest tune contains. If the idea of listening and learning with others sounds like fun, join us on October 6 and we'll see what happens! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions and to reserve a space—sooner rather than later--so that our facility has enough chairs available.
