Tune Bench is back!
This fall, the Tune Bench is offering “Core Repertoire”, a once-a-week tune-learning series. Core Repertoire aims to build your Irish tune repertoire as well as your ear-training skills in a group setting. We’ll learn 1-2 well-known Irish tunes by ear each week. Recording is encouraged (but no video please), and we’ll post links for further listening. All traditional instruments welcome but we’re learning and playing melody only, not accompaniment. Core Repertoire is designed for beginning/intermediate players, but all are welcome. Players can attend one session or the whole series. Tune Bench goals: Learn to listen, listen to learn, relax when playing in front of others, make music, have fun!
The 8-week series of 90-minute sessions starts on Saturday, September 28. Teresa Baker, Portland whistle and piano player, will again be your Tune Bench guide.
Cost: $10 per session, proceeds to fund Comhaltas activities. (Checks made out to CCE Oregon).
We once more plan to meet in the fire stations…but will keep you updated with addresses as the time approaches.
