An introductory course to Irish language for folks with little or no Irish language skill. This course aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of the language in preparation for the Irish Language Nest.
Irish Language Nest
This casual gathering of learners utilizes a Language Nest model, which is an important learning format that precipitates language community cohesion among learners with different skill levels. This format also shifts the focus from teacher-led, standard board instruction to skill sharing and self-directed learning. For this reason, this is NOT a course and registration is NOT required. Sean-nós Northwest Festival
The Sean-nós Northwest Traditional Irish Weekend celebrates and promotes three aspects of traditional Irish culture: sean-nós singing, sean-nós dancing, and the Irish language. SNNW aims to sustain a vibrant community for these and other Irish cultural arts (including storytelling, poetry, and decorative arts) throughout the Pacific Northwest through this weekend celebration.
